The Role:
The Vivint Innovation Center is looking for a software engineer to help develop the server platform for one of the largest IoT smart home companies in North America. We are looking to grow our team of exceptional engineers with more of the best talent we can find. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
⦁ Work in a highly autonomous and collaborative environment
⦁ Work closely with the other teams like mobile apps and embedded devices that integrate with the platform/backend
⦁ Research and evaluate new technologies and tools
⦁ Participate in re-occurring “Innovation Days” and work on innovative projects of your choice
⦁ Work on cool stuff that you get to use in your own home
⦁ Create systems to handle lots of data from sensors, cameras, and user actions
REQUIRED SKILLS:
⦁ Experience with creating and maintaining backend services
⦁ Experience with queuing, concurrency, caching, persistence, performance
⦁ Experience developing highly available HTTP and GRPC web services
⦁ Experience with any of the following technologies is a plus: Golang, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Redis, Python, Networking, Datacenter monitoring, Oauth2, Kafka, AWS, Security and data privacy, PaaS, SaaS, Docker, Microservices, and Video
⦁ High level of communication skills. Ability to exchange ideas about complex subjects efficiently
⦁ Ability to adapt, change, and learn as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
⦁ B.S. in Computer Science or related field preferred
⦁ 4+ years' work experience
