Job description
Go Engineer
We are about to embark on a dynamic new phase as we transition from our legacy systems to new technologies and we are looking for bright, talented and enthusiastic Engineers to help us. As part of a newly formed team, you will be able to work in an agile, fast paced environment, using your skills to help create the technology and culture on the road to our next exciting stage as a leading UK provider of utilities.
The Plan
Our 3-5 year plan touches on almost every aspect of technology within the business. We are embracing cloud, microservices and full automation throughout the stack. We use the right tools for the right job and are constantly exploring technology options as we progress with our transition.
About you
We are looking for true technologists with a genuine interest in what they do day to day. If you're an open source contributor, hacker and wiz who loves to write code - great, so are we and we would love to hear from you! We are interested in both specialists and generalists; we strongly believe in lean methodologies, testing, automation, cross discipline and above all in getting things done and out there in front of our customers. If your interests span technologies from frontend to linux containers you will find plenty to do here - if you rather concentrate on architecture or react.js then there's plenty of that too.
We're looking for someone to: build end-to-end web solutions, influence and contribute to technical architecture,
participate in the entire development life cycle, from requirements to deployment and automate whatever we can!
There are many interesting challenges to be solved within our domain, many will require specific tech to be used - the list below is just a summary of what is in play today; we are very much counting on you to bring fresh ideas forward!
We believe in lean development and agile methodologies test and behaviour driven development continuous delivery, testing, integration and deployment getting things done and out there.
We don't dictate or micromanage, we want our teams to be autonomous, proactive and self organising. Weβre technology agnostic and always try to choose the right tool for the job.
How we interview
Our interview process begins with an introductory call to help you learn more about the role, team and wider transformation and help us learn more about you. Next up is a high level technical interview over Hangout to find out more about your technical abilities. If we move forward, we will invite you to an onsite interview so we can have a face to face chat, do a whiteboard exercise, and write some code together. You will also have the chance to meet the team and our technical leaders, have a look around our offices and get a feel for who we are.

Skills & requirements
We are looking for engineers that have:
1. Go experience (whether professional or in your own time)
2. Great enjoyment in building scalable products and systems
