As an Opinary backend engineer you’ll become part of our cross functional team, and help us build a scalable and flexible platform to cater for our growing user base. Our technology intuitively visualizes complex debates, right within the content of leading publishers. Over 10 million users have used our tools to share opinions that matter, on platforms from Spiegel Online to WirtschaftsWoche. Skills & requirements
You
- You’re an experienced backend developer who worked on significant distributed systems - with a story or two to share about that process
- You value coding as your craft and understand that writing software is like solving technical problems - but also something to be maintained and understood by your peers
- You’re proactive and curious: always eager to learn new things and happy to share your knowledge with others
Skills
- Golang and one of python, node.js, Java
- Experience with Service Oriented Architectures / Microservices
- You have worked with SQL systems (e.g. MySQL, PostgresSQL) as well as NoSQL systems (e.g. Google Datastore, Cassandra, DynamoDB) and can comfortably decide when to choose either one
- Implemented and worked with queuing systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, Google’s Pub/Sub
- A big plus is experience with the Google Cloud Ecosystem (App Engine, Datastore, Pub/Sub, Google Container Engine/ Kubernetes)
- You don’t fall prey to the “Fallacies of Distributed Computing”
