Job description

We are looking for our first software design engineer in test (SDET). The right candidate will be capable both of building automation frameworks from scratch and knowing when and how to leverage 3rd party/existing tools to achieve the quality bar. Must be a thinker and leader with a passion for building automation frameworks that make complex software work flawlessly at scale and continuous deployment possible.

In this role, you will partner closely with both the CTO and the broader engineering team in the building of frameworks and the development of functional, performance, scalability and integration tests. You will help us comprehensively automate testing on our platform and make it data driven. You will select the tools and infrastructure, configure and customize it, and as needed build and architect new pieces of the system from scratch.

Skills & requirements
Requirements:

Excellent coding skills; Knowledge of Go is a plus

Broad and deep expertise in multiple automation disciplines including performance, scalability, integration and functional testing

Experience testing and/or building fault-tolerant distributed systems

Expertise in building automation frameworks from scratch

Expertise in multiple 3rd party automation frameworks and tools like Selenium, Sahi, Watir, JMeter, Grinder, Seige, Blitz.io

Strong scripting abilities in languages like JavaScipt, Ruby, and Python

Strong knowledge of HTTP/REST at massive scale

Extensive database knowledge with both traditional SQL databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases like Mongo, HBase, Cassandra and Couch

Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS and Heroku

Experience in a startup or a kickass Saas/Cloud project is a plus

Thrives in agile, test driven environments and excited about continuous integration over multiple platforms

Self-starter, flexible, versatile, entrepreneurial spirit, always learning new skills and technologies

BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
