Job description
As the Automation Engineer, you will implement, configure, and support the overall monitoring and performance management system over the enterprise wide applications.

Responsibilities:

Define and standardize proactive monitoring approach and success criteria including establishing best practices, operation standards and governance structure.
Create and support custom scripts in Perl/bash/python/Ruby/GoLang.
Develop and own the monitoring architecture/platform, alerting mechanisms and escalation process to ensure business continuity and per business demands, application and infrastructure requirements
Analyzes trends in system utilization to predict future growth for capacity planning purposes
Create and maintain operational dashboards for both real-time and trended views for multiple levels of users (Operations, Engineering, Development, Business and Executive)
Collaborate with business partners, engineers, developers, infrastructure team, operations to ensure operational readiness of existing and potential solutions
Train other operations and IT associates on the monitoring tools usability
Run and review performance monitoring of complex systems and applications on multiple platforms

Skills & requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
BE/MCA/MSC in Computer Science or equivalent relevant experience
5+ years experience in IT
2+ years experience with mission critical environments
2+ years of experience in installing, configuring, troubleshooting and supporting software applications deployed on Solaris & Linux OS and at least 2 years’ experience in performing Enterprise Systems Monitoring (ESM) and implementing popular monitoring enterprise suites such as Nagios and SolarWind.
2+ years of experience in Graphing Tools such as Ganglia, Graphite and Cacti.
2+ years of experience in Configuration management tool such as Puppet, chef and saltstack.
Must have installed, admin, managed and been fully responsible for a cloud infrastructure and application monitoring system or systems including Nagios or SolarWind or Icinga
Strong technical experience in an application hosting IT environment (including web servers, database, virtualization, storage, load balancers, firewalls)
Ability to write scripts in Bash, Perl, Ruby, Go Programing Language and Python
Highly motivated individual with excellent analytical skills dedicated to completing tasks on schedule and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision in a 24x7 environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
