Job description
Veza is a well-funded startup headquartered in Silicon Valley operating with a remote-first mindset with teams across the US, Canada and Europe. The founding team consists of serial entrepreneurs and early engineers from startups and cloud scale companies.

Role
We’re hiring a Backend Engineer to support the next phase of our growth. You'll work alongside colleagues who have helped to shape the success of companies such as Google, Okta, Rubrik, AWS, VMware, and more. This is a key role within the Engineering team to help us build out our core product -- a SaaS-based data security platform.

Responsibilities
Build data products and distributed systems
Solve hard algorithmic and distributed systems problems by building a first-of-its-kind, containerized, data infrastructure platform
Exposure to users and Enterprise customer - customer feedback is a major driver of our product roadmap

Requirements
3-5 years hands-on engineering experience on backend systems
Strong experience with Golang/Go, Java or similar core programming languages (C, C++)
In-depth knowledge of modern micro-service-based architectures
Data experience (Cockroach, Neo4j, Elastic, Snowflake, Redshift, or RDS [MySQL, PostgreSQL])
Large scale data and modern streaming architecture (e.g., Kafka) knowledge
Ability to wear multiple hats in a fast-paced environment
Hands-on, “can do” attitude and a bias for action
In-depth security and/or networking knowledge a plus
IdP experience (Okta, Ping, OneLogin, Azure AD) a plus
Cloud IAM experience (AWS IAM, Azure RBAC) a plus
