Job description
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build Cape Privacy's innovative SaaS-based encrypted learning platform. This product sits at the intersection of data science, machine learning, and cryptography; allowing organizations to enhance ML models through privacy-preserving collaboration. Responsibilities include working with our Product team and other engineers to bring the product vision to reality. This is primarily a backend focussed position, but the the ideal candidate should feel comfortable working in all areas of the stack, from the lowest level on the backend, to the customer facing components of the front end.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software features.
Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
Clarify and ensure the technical feasibility of product requirements.
Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability.
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
Conduct thorough testing of your work, and participate in peer reviews within your team.

Key Qualifications
A great attitude, effective communication skills, and a strong sense of ownership.
BS in computer science or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years professional work experience building performant, user-friendly, reliable software systems.
Experience working on backend system services, such as databases, distributed systems, realtime applications, etc.
Experience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

Desirable Qualifications
Experience developing SaaS applications in cloud infrastructure.
Experience developing software in Go or Rust languages.
Familiarity with React UI framework.
Experience working with GraphQL, TypeScript, or Flow.
Experience working in a data science or machine learning context.
