CottageClass is a community marketplace for preK-12th grade education. We empower independent teachers to start new schools, classes and camps to fill unmet educational needs in their community. In little over a year, we've generated 1.2MM in tuition contracts and served over 400 families in the NYC area. Our investors include Learn Capital, the co-founder of Airbnb, VP of trips at Airbnb and Techstars NYC.

Job description
Hi friends, we're seeking a highly skilled technical advisor for our early stage startup to support the CEO and COO in cultivating the long-term technical vision for the company, hiring and managing off-shore developers. CottageClass is a community marketplace for childhood education. We empower independent teachers to start new schools, classes and The role of the advisor would be to support us in identifying, vetting, hiring and managing an off-shore developer or developers to maintain and build upon our existing platform. Additionally, the advisor would support us in growing and building upon the long-term technical vision for the company. This role would require 1-3 hours/week. There is definitely a possibility for this to develop into a full-time job or co-founder position if all goes well. The position will be compensated in equity only for the first 6-12 months.

Skills & requirements
You'll need to have:

2+ years professional full-stack development experience

An intermediate knowledge of Javascript 

An intermediate knowledge of Go

Strong software design skills

Understanding of working in NoSql databases like MongoDB

Understanding of Docker and Kuberentes

Understanding of UX and good user design

A zest and abundant curiosity for talking to users and iterating based on their feedback.

Understanding of how to build out Stripe Marketplace for customized payments and ensure PCI compliance.

A passion for education

Strong desire to work with a social impact company

We'd love to see:

4+ years professional full-stack development experience

An expert knowledge of Javascript 

An expert knowledge of Go

Experience leading and managing software teams

Data analytics skills (We wish to provide recommendations to teachers on what to offer based on geodemocraphics)

An experienced and creative growth hacker
