Job description
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this is a hands-on leadership position. It is expected you will take the lead in test automation design and not be afraid to get your hands dirty with scripts and config files as we move toward an increasingly automated test environment for our leading-edge open-source language distros. The language distributions we ship come with large test suites, and our tests are partially integrated into the build process, but as we move toward continuous integration and always-releasable software we need a fully automated QA system to replace our current semi-automated practices.

Skills & requirements
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Providing hands on leadership to a small team of QA and support professionals
Technical leadership to increase our test automation and improve our overall QA process
Managing the support process and helping service the support queue
Supporting salespeople in a sales engineering role
Owning projects from start to finish
Working in a collaborative environment with Development, Tech Writing, and Special Projects to solve hard Enterprise software problems with leading-edge language distros

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 2 years team leadership experience
Minimum 7 years' QA and support experience
Great customer-facing skills
Familiarity with automated testing and modern QA practices. We are currently using all custom tooling, and are open to a wide range of future tool options. Your expertise will be critical to those choices!
Comfortable with git
Excellent problem-solving skills
Excellent written and spoken communications skills
Experience (or interest) in managing and improving a complex QA system

Ability to help flesh out precise requirements from customer input
Enterprise software experience
“Big Iron” (AIX, HP-UX, Solaris) experience
