Job description
DevOps Engineers are responsible for developing our underlying systems architecture, development environment, and release processes. You will work on building infrastructure tools and automating our application and system deployments. As a DevOps Engineer, you will join our Chicago-based technology team, working on infrastructure management to improve our processes and develop scalable, robust platforms. You will work collaboratively with other engineers, data scientists, and analysts to best manage and monitor our production environment.

We are very committed to the DevOps philosophy with Engineers taking responsibility for the proper integration and execution of their code. You should have the expertise to match your passion for automation, high performance, and sweating the details.

Skills & requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

--Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related subject, or equivalent work experience
--Interest and ability to master new computer languages and technologies
--Some experience managing and provisioning cloud-computing platforms, particularly AWS
--Some experience with databases (proficiency in SQL, administration, programmatic usage, analytics databases, and/or NoSQL)
--Proficiency working with Linux
--Complete understanding of the SDLC

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

--Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment systems
--Familiarity with systems and application monitoring
--Familiarity with shell scripting and Unix philosophy
--Familiarity with Docker containers and Golang
--Familiarity with distributed version control systems (I.e. Git)
--Experience with automation tools (Puppet, Chef, Vagrant, Ansible, etc.)
--Experience in Python, Ruby, Perl, Bash, or similar
--Knowledge of IP networking concepts and protocols
