About Us
At Convox, we are redefining how teams deploy, scale, and manage applications in the cloud. Our platform enables developers to "ship code, we ship infrastructure" by giving them control, visibility, and productivity across multi cloud environments including AWS, Google Cloud (GCP), and Microsoft Azure. (https://www.convox.com)
As we continue to expand our PaaS offering and deliver meaningful enterprise grade infrastructure automation, we are looking for a talented backend engineer to help build the next generation of our platform.
What You Will Do
You will be part of the core backend team working on Convox's PaaS product, focusing on infrastructure, orchestration, cloud integration, and developer experience features. Key responsibilities include:
Design, build, and maintain backend services in Go that power our PaaS including APIs, scheduler and orchestrator logic, integrations with cloud providers, and internal tooling.
Work closely with our infrastructure team to integrate with Kubernetes (clusters, deployments, autoscaling) and Terraform (infrastructure as code) across AWS, GCP, Azure and other clouds.
Help architect, deploy, and maintain multi cloud racks and environments inside customers' accounts or in our managed environment. (https://docs.convox.com/getting-started/introduction)
Collaborate with product and UX teams to deliver features for developers such as improving CLI usage, enhancing CI/CD workflows, enabling marketplace and cloud provider integrations, and creating better observability and logging experiences.
Ensure high reliability, scalability, and security of the platform by implementing monitoring, logging, alerting, rollback capabilities, and multi cloud failover strategies.
Participate in code reviews, mentor others, and help define best practices for backend infrastructure, Go services, and cloud deployments.
What We Are Looking For
Required Experience and Skills
Strong programming experience in Go (Golang) for production backend systems.
Solid understanding of Kubernetes including cluster design, deployments, autoscaling, service mesh or networking, and stateful vs stateless workloads.
Experience working with Terraform or a similar IaC tool to define and manage infrastructure across cloud providers.
Hands on experience in one or more major cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure including managing services, network, compute, storage, and security.
A good understanding of how a PaaS product works and what it means to abstract away infrastructure for developers while still giving control. (https://www.convox.com/product)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, and some exposure to marketplace or cloud provider integrations is a strong plus.
Excellent communication skills, ability to work cross functionally, and thrive within a fast moving product engineering environment.
Nice to Have
Experience publishing or integrating software or solutions on cloud marketplaces such as AWS Marketplace, GCP Marketplace, or Azure Marketplace.
Experience working in multi cloud or hybrid cloud environments or customer facing deployment scenarios.
Familiarity with system design for high availability, multi region, and multi tenant architectures.
Experience with open source projects or distributed systems.
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools and observability such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
Why You Will Love It Here
You will be building a product that helps other engineering teams ship faster with less operational overhead.
You will work with a modern stack in Go, Kubernetes, Terraform, and multi cloud with many opportunities to learn and shape a platform.
You will see direct impact as the work you deliver will go into the hands of users, influence product direction, and help us scale.
Flexible environment, collaborative engineering culture, and support for remote or hybrid work if applicable.
Opportunity for growth as our platform expands and you grow into architecting, mentoring, and owning major pillars of the product.
