Certain Affinity is the largest independent developer in Texas, based out of Austin, and we have a growing presence in Toronto, Canada. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Platform team at Certain Affinity, you will be responsible for developing and owning services and infrastructure that support crypto-powered games. You will build inter-protocol blockchain systems to serve the infrastructural needs of application-level developers. You will work with members of the Platform team to create state-of-the-art software to handle millions of players in a fun and seamless game experience. This position is a unique opportunity to make a big impact working with a small team on cutting-edge blockchain networks around games.

Responsibilities
Create, optimize, and maintain online services consumed by both internal and external customers
Build infrastructure and eliminate work through automation
Identify tools and approaches that will reduce complexity
Be an advocate for code quality and best practices
Interact with game teams and stakeholders to best understand their needs

Requirements
5+ years of experience in the fields of Computer Science or Software Engineering
Understanding of distributed systems, data structures, and algorithms
Programming experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Go, C/C++, Rust, Python, Java)
Experience building, operating, and solving problems with microservices
Familiar with CI/CD practices
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Comfortable synthesizing technical and non-technical objectives
A systematic and detail-oriented problem-solving approach
A desire to work in a diverse and inclusive environment

Extra Credit
Prior experience with blockchain technologies
Understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems
Contributor to open-source projects
Familiarity with container and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with cloud computing systems (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud)
