Job description
Help us build the Mesosphere Datacenter Operating System (DCOS) - a new kind of operating system that spans all of the servers in a physical or cloud-based datacenter. DCOS is building on and extending the Apache Mesos open source project that enables massively scalable applications and data services at companies such as Twitter and Airbnb.

We are now looking for
Go Developers / Distributed Systems Engineers (f/m)

to work on the Mesosphere stack in our office in Hamburg.

We are implementing Go language support for Mesos in Go, and we are using Go to enable frameworks such as Kubernetes on Mesos. We are also making Mesos take advantage of and enhance the utility of packaging and operating systems implemented in Go. Furthermore, we are working on a Go plugin system for the Mesos core to facilitate writing system extensions and advanced algorithms in Go.

Our engineers take pride in their craft and ship code that is expertly engineered and well tested. The team consists of extremely talented engineers - ranging from the design and implementation of programming languages and various managed runtime systems to writing distributed tracing tools for HPC. The founders of Mesosphere helped build and scale Twitter and Airbnb and have written notable open source software.

Skills & requirements
What are Go Developers / Distributed Applications Engineers doing at Mesosphere?

Provisioning and managing services for large clusters

Building data services to aggregate huge amounts of metrics

Contributing to Apache Mesos frameworks to run batch jobs and long running services

Implementing Go language support
Researching scheduling algorithms by writing Mesos plugins

Work on Mesos integrations with Go-related and Go-implemented packaging systems and operating systems

Experience and qualities we're looking for

B.Sc. in computer science or a related subject or equivalent training and depth of knowledge

Mad Go skills
Experience building large scale production systems
