Flight Itinerary (About The Role)
We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our Order Team, composed of backend and full-stack engineers. You will be working on our new Order Management System to enable the travel industry to transform how air products are retailed to corporations, leisure and business travelers, by addressing the industry’s current distribution limitations.
Our current stack includes Java, with new services being built in Golang with Redis, Postgres, and BigQuery as data storage platforms.

What Your Journey Will Look Like (Responsibilities)
Build out new product capabilities for our Order Management System
Modernize existing legacy systems while working on a greenfield project
Think in patterns to evaluate and make decisions regarding frameworks, platforms, APIs, and other technologies
Provide technical expertise and leadership in product design, development, and delivery while adhering to coding standards, requirements, and quality levels
Make accurate estimates for upcoming work, communicate technical solutions effectively, and share knowledge
Work in a product-focused scrum team to deliver against a roadmap driven by a dedicated product owner

What To Pack For This Trip (Qualifications)
3+ years of software engineering experience with Object-oriented programming languages, specifically Golang, Java and Python
Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide new members, grow the engineering-excellence culture, and influence larger engineering organizations.
Familiarity with SQL / NoSQL storage and their strengths and weaknesses (PostgreSQL, Redis)
Past experience with the QA processes in software development

Optional Carry-On (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience with Cloud platforms (GCP/AWS) and Software security
Experience with Observability using Datadog, NewRelic, or Prometheus
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux systems
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
Familiarity with modern CI/CD
Past engineering experience running high-load and high-uptime services in production
Past engineering experience with data-intensive systems and data-driven products.
