Biography
Originally being a software developer I started looking into architecture and DevOps things more and more. After having taken over responsibility for the CI/CD pipeline of a project I once worked at I dug deeper into the cloud infrastructure environment and started to work on deployments to kubernetes, first orchestrated with KOPS and Kubespray and most recently with EKS@AWS.
For the last 4 years I've been working as a freelancer, supporting customers with running their applications in kubernetes clusters at Google Cloud, on prem / bare metal and (mostly) AWS. I also wrote a ton of software in golang, in some cases open-source (github.com/aklinkert & github.com/scalify) but unfortunately mostly closed-source. At the last project I wrote a kubernetes operator for the customer which manages AWS resources in a branded fashion with security options preconfigured and customized.
In my free time I'm a passionate musician, judoka and videographer.
