Biography
I'm one of those kids who grew up when only geeks knew what computers were, and sometimes we ordered them from catalogs in parts and soldered them together ourselves. I started programming in BASIC at age 9 or so, and have been doing it for money for around twenty years. Over the past ten years, I have worked mostly with Python and javaScript, but I'm always interested in branching out and learning new things. Google's Go language is a particular interest for me now, as I think it will play a major role in the future of server-side development.
Skills
I've been developing, testing, deploying, monitoring and maintaining web applications and web application ecosystems for more than ten years. I have expert-level skills and experience with python, django, postgresql, apache, nginx and linux (mainly ubuntu and centos), and extensive client-side development experience with javascript and coffeescript as well. I have been working 100% remote for over eight years.
What I look for
I am looking for a position as a senior engineer where I can work on interesting projects of real importance, and where I have the opportunity to continue to learn and grow as a developer. I'm open to full-time, freelance, and contract-to-hire positions.
