Job description
We are a team full of passion for engineering, business and creating awesome user experiences. We love open-source and using the latest technologies to scale our distributed application to process millions of files every day. As a backend engineer at Smallpdf, you will be responsible for developing our infrastructure and backend application. You will work closely together with our product development team that includes experienced and talented backend and frontend engineers and a great designer.

Skills & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Develop new features for Smallpdf
- Manage and automate our infrastructure that spans across more than 80 machines
- Analyze and monitor our application to spot problems
- Help designing our service architecture
- Work closely with our product team

Requirements:
- Experience with scaling distributed web applications
- Work independently and take responsibility and ownership of your work
- 5+ years of experience with software development
- Experience with AWS or similar services
- Good programming skills.
- Golang
- TDD, Git and Linux experience
- Configuration management, Docker
- Fluent in English (German is useful but not necessary)
- Full-time position
- Permanently based in Zurich (or willing to move)
- Swiss or EU passport holder (or other permit that allows you to work in Switzerland)
