Verizon is looking for a software engineer and technical leader to create microservices that support applications on its internal cloud infrastructure. The engineer will help design, test, deploy and operate application services on a highly scalable computing platform for consumer-oriented services in a worldwide, high-quality, tier-1 network.
Work with application and platform development teams to identify technical requirements for services and APIs to be created by the team.
Provide architectural oversight/review of services and APIs created by the team.
Provide mentorship and technical leadership to team members.
Work within an Agile development to build, test, deploy, and maintain scalable, robust microservices for use by applications.
Provide clear documentation for code, APIs, and procedures.
Skills & requirements
7+ years experience with one or more of C/C++/golang.
7+ years experience with RESTful API development.
Knowledge of basic Linux system administration.
Must possess software development practices in a team environment, including source code control (git), continuous integration, and testing.
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
B.S. in computer science or software engineering.
Experience with containerized development using Docker, Marathon, Mesos, etc., a plus.
Experience with developing in an Agile environment a plus.
