Job description
At Enigma we are passionate about public data and building beautiful tools to wrangle it and make it more accessible to people. We are looking for talented backend engineers who are excited about data’s impact on the world to work on a variety of challenging infrastructural and distributed systems problems.

You’ll be involved in designing, building, and scaling the service-oriented infrastructure that tracks, analyzes and processes billions of public records each day. Our flat organizational structure and small development team provide you the opportunity to work on big projects that actually matter.

We value engineers that take pride in their craft, and place emphasis on design and general programming ability rather than experience with any specific technology. At Enigma, you’ll run into Python, Ruby, and Go frequently, and work with technologies like Docker, AWS, and Postgres.

Skills & requirements
Strong approach to the craft of software engineering, demonstrated through careful consideration of design, architecture, and quality code
Desire and ability to solve open-ended problems in an elegant, scalable manner
Drive to learn new things and go above and beyond the call of duty
Extensive experience with SOA and distributed systems
Disciplined approach to testing, quality assurance, and delivery
Experience with Amazon Web Services, distributed caches and NoSQL databases
