Software Design Engineer in Test at usermind
Seattle, Washington, United States (Posted May 23 2014)
About the company
Usermind was founded in June 2013 to transform business operations across sales, marketing, support and services. Still actively in development, usermind’s solution provides businesses with valuable insights to unite these siloed teams and the data they rely on to drive success across the customer lifecycle. By automating key processes across business operations, companies can increase agility and experimentation, and drive new levels of innovation.
At usermind, we have a passion for quality, automation and continuous deployment. We believe that great automation frameworks are not optional. They enable the speed we need to out-innovate our competitors and delight our customers. Quality and automation isn't tactical, it’s a strategic advantage when done well.
We are looking for our first software design engineer in test (SDET). The right candidate will be capable both of building automation frameworks from scratch and knowing when and how to leverage 3rd party/existing tools to achieve the quality bar. Must be a thinker and leader with a passion for building automation frameworks that make complex software work flawlessly at scale and continuous deployment possible.
In this role, you will partner closely with both the CTO and the broader engineering team in the building of frameworks and the development of functional, performance, scalability and integration tests. You will help us comprehensively automate testing on our platform and make it data driven. You will select the tools and infrastructure, configure and customize it, and as needed build and architect new pieces of the system from scratch.
At usermind, we are looking to build out the core group of developers to get us from MVP to a globally launched service. Our ideal teammates are brilliant, curious, and always learning technology polyglots—engineers who have broad and deep experience with multiple types of technologies and services, and who choose among them to best solve customer problems.
We are passionate not only about what we do but also about how we do it. That’s why we live by the principles we defined for ourselves (CCREAD):
we create something from nothing—culture, product, category, company
we courageously explore the unknown, take risks, and embrace reality
we respect ourselves, our teammates, our customers, and our craft
we empower our employees and customers to be their best selves
we delight by making magic happen
As an engineering team, we aggressively pursue two goals:
Deliver value to customers by shipping a service with great design, great quality, and a quickly growing set of features. We’re a lean mean coding machine to accomplish that.
Lay the foundation for the long term of a rapidly growing business, quickly scaling service, and evolving technologies and features. We invest in deliberate choices in technologies and architecture that will carry us for the years to come.
Join us to get in on the ground floor and create something from nothing.
Only local WA state candidates and FTE candidates at this time.
