Senior Backend Developer at Vivino
Copenhagen, Denmark (Posted Feb 22 2017)
About the company
Vivino is the world's largest wine community, built on top of a vast database of 8 million wines, 50 million ratings and 18 million wine reviews. More than 20 million users of the Vivino app provide ratings and reviews on a daily basis. Our app is by far the most downloaded and used wine app in the world and available in the Apple App Store and on Google Play. Vivino is Editors Choice on Android and has had several frontpage features on the Apple App Store.
Vivino is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, with offices in San Francisco, Ukraine and India.
Vivino is seeking an experienced backend developer for our Copenhagen office, ready to join a vibrant start-up, building the world's #1 wine app and website – as soon as possible.
You'll join our existing backend team, building APIs, massaging huge datasets into speedy and scalable models, to service our native app- and web-clients. With thousands of concurrent sessions, you will focus on delivering high quality within scalable solutions.
Skills & requirements
- Implement new features and APIs.
- Model data flows in a variety of backend systems.
- Program concurrent systems (mostly Golang, with Ruby and PHP also involved).
- Analysis of bugs and optimization issues.
- Help in establishing new development frameworks and systems.
You have extensive professional experience and identify yourself more with the virtues of a great developer, rather than specific languages and frameworks. You excel at working with complicated datasets and you have experience with both statically typed languages as well as dynamic scripting languages. You also understand object orientation and concurrent execution models. You're familiar with Test Driven Development. You are a curious, communicative person who is eager to learn.
You are ready to join a startup with few formal procedures and limits. You're not an asshole.
